Thank you for visiting my web site.
I am pleased to share with you on these pages the passion that I have for creating hand made knives for the outdoorsman. My knives are very functional and are made to be used in the field.
I was born in 1961 in Kalispell, Montana. I spent most of my younger years in the mountains of Northwest Montana camping, hunting and fishing. I made my first knife at the age of 16. It was a "kit" knife that I received as a gift. I put an antler handle on it and used it for many years.
Throughout the years I experimented off and on making knives and soon realized this was something that I wanted to do. I have now made this my full time hobby. I enjoy each and every knife that I make and hope others will get the same pleasure out of my knives.
How My Knives Are Made
All of my knives are hand made from recycled saw blades, which are high carbon steel. Some of the saw blades have more character (distress markings) than others do and I leave as much of that character as I possibly can in each knife. The result is that no two knives are ever alike. I first soften the saw steel so I can drill, grind and engrave it easily. Then the knife is heat treated to re-harden the steel, oil quenched and tempered. I then polish the blades to a satin finish. I use a wide variety of handle material, such as genuine antler, horn, wood and exotic woods.
I make all of my own sheaths, one at a time, out of top quality leather and hand stitch them to fit each knife.
I guarantee the workmanship on my knives for life, under normal use.
I hope you enjoy my web site. Please let me know If you have any questions.
